TELO Trucks, maker of the world’s most efficient mini pickup truck that’s redefining what’s possible in electric mobility, has officially announced the launch of first pre-production vehicle for its game-changing pickup truck named the TELO MT1.
In case you weren’t aware, TELO MT1 will effectively combine the most advanced battery technology, led by co-founder and CTO Forrest North, with cutting-edge safety innovations, led by co-founder and CEO Jason Marks, into a compact footprint which is tailor-made for urban environments.
Anyway, more on the given pre-production vehicle would reveal how it arrives on the scene bearing a thoughtfully designed, sustainably built interior capable of reimagining what an electric truck can feel like.
Markedly enough, it is also designed by renowned industrial designer and TELO Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Yves Béhar, alongside his fuseproject team, allowing for the resulting technology to effectively prioritize sustainability, comfort, and functionality throughout every element in the truck’s cabin.
“We’re inviting investors, partners, and customers to join us as we take the next step,” said Marks. “TELO is proving that – in a market stuffed with legacy brands – it is possible for a mini, mighty startup to deliver on time, on budget, and with real impact.”
Talk about this cabin on a slightly deeper level, we begin by expanding upon its sustainably sourced materials. You see, the biodegradable cork, a renewable, lightweight material offers you a luxurious feel, while simultaneously reducing environmental impact.
Next up, we must get into the vehicle space seating configuration. This translates to how TELO’s innovative seat arrangement ensures rear passengers have the same legroom as a full-size five-seat crew cab pickup truck, thus putting-together an unmatched balance of space efficiency and comfort.
Joining that is the potential for accessing smart storage solutions. Here, we basically have a “Monster Tunnel”, which would be an innovative storage system that hides “under the bed” to allow extra cargo space, making the vehicle perfect for adventure gear, tools, or daily essentials.
The development in question delivers a rather interesting follow-up to TELO raising a sum of $5.4M in a strategic funding round, led by Neo, with added funding provided by Spero Ventures.
Among other things, we ought to mention how TELO already has 5,000 pre-orders for its pickup truck, representing over $250M+ in customer commitments. Complementing that further would be the company’s partnership with industry-leading transportation prototype manufacturing partner, Aria Group, something which is going to enable the former to achieve a compact EV design, integrate innovative material choices, and package an intuitive user experience into an ultra-efficient pickup truck.
“We designed the future of utility transportation by maximizing every inch to provide comfort without compromising performance or capability,” said Yves Béhar. “TELO brings more features, space, and practicality than any other vehicle on the road today.”
