Saudia Cargo Expands Global Cargo Handling Partnership with WFS

Renewed agreement strengthens air cargo operations across major European and U.S. logistics hubs

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 18 March 2026 – Saudia Cargo has renewed and expanded its cargo handling partnership with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), strengthening operations across eight major international gateways in Europe and the United States. The extended agreement aims to improve global cargo connectivity, streamline logistics operations, and support the airline’s growing air freight network.

The partnership covers key European airports including Amsterdam Schiphol, Brussels, Frankfurt, Paris Charles de Gaulle, London Heathrow, and Manchester. In the United States, the agreement includes cargo handling services at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.

This renewal continues a collaboration between Saudia Cargo and WFS that first began in these locations in 2019. The companies previously extended their agreement in February 2023, and the latest contract further strengthens their long-term operational partnership.

The new contract was officially signed during a ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The agreement was finalized by Loay Mashabi, chief executive and managing director of Saudia Cargo, and John Batten, chief executive of Gateway Services for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia at WFS, which is owned by SATS.

According to Saudia Cargo, WFS’s established operations at major international airports play an important role in supporting the airline’s global expansion strategy. By leveraging WFS’s cargo handling infrastructure and logistics expertise, the airline aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure reliable cargo movement for customers worldwide.

In addition to the eight gateways included in the renewed agreement, WFS also provides cargo handling services for Saudia Cargo at several other global locations. These include Liege Airport in Belgium, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, India, Bangkok in Thailand, Johannesburg in South Africa, and Los Angeles in the United States.

The collaboration between the companies also extends beyond cargo handling operations. Earlier this year, WFS, Saudia Cargo, and CHAMP Cargosystems launched a joint project to develop a practical implementation of IATA’s One Record initiative. This global industry framework aims to improve digital data sharing across the air cargo supply chain.

The project is designed to support the aviation industry’s transition to a more connected and transparent digital cargo ecosystem ahead of the One Record implementation deadline set for January 1.

By strengthening partnerships with global cargo service providers and investing in digital transformation, Saudia Cargo continues to enhance its international logistics network. The renewed agreement with WFS reflects the growing importance of efficient cargo handling, advanced logistics infrastructure, and collaborative innovation in the global air freight industry.
