Saris, manufacturer of world-class bike racks, trainers, storage and bicycle parking products, is officially set to showcase an assortment of three all-new bike racks at the 2025 Sea Otter Classic, one of the cycling industry’s premier trade shows.
According to certain reports, the company will take this opportunity to introduce The Edge, Freedom, and SuperClamp variations, each one markedly designed to provide durability, ease of use, and secure bike transport. The overarching idea here is to accommodate the needs of every cyclist, including the ones commuting in the city, exploring backroads, or gearing up for the next big ride, and more.
Talk about these new bike racks on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Freedom, which happens to be a lightweight and versatile component made for your everyday adventure. More on the same would reveal how, manufactured entirely in the USA, Freedom brings to the fore an industry-leading combination of strength, versatility, and value. It is also designed with zero frame contact, making the bike rack a perfect pick for those who need a lightweight yet robust transportation solution.
We referred to how the product is lightweight, but what we haven’t yet touched upon is its aluminum construction, which comes with rust-resistant capabilities, as well as a strong base for easy loading.
Next up, we must dig into the rack’s fixed position arm. This particular component protects the frame and fork from contact and damage. Another detail worth a mention is rooted in its fast fit technology that translates to a rotating wheel tray mechanism auto-adjusting to wheelbases.
Joining that would be an anti-wobble system. Here, a locking hitch pin ensures a secure, stable fit in the vehicle hitch. Complementing that would be the rack’s compact design, boasting the smallest footprint of any 2-bike tray-style rack.
Next up, we must expand upon SuperClamp, the fastest-loading rack for on-the-go cyclists. Geared towards riders who seek speed, security, and convenience, this variation is understood to feature updated spring-loaded arm and tool-free installation, both components contributing heavily to make it one of the quickest racks to load and secure.
There is also in play a spring-loaded arm, which secures bikes without touching the frame or fork. Markedly enough, like Freedom, SuperClamp enjoys the lightweight, durable, rust-resistant perks of an aluminum construction. Not just that, it also comes bearing one more similarity in the form of an anti-wobble system to achieve a rock-solid connection with no tools required.
Beyond that, we must unpack the rack’s adjustable front wheel block. You see, the stated block can accommodate wheels from 20″ to 29″. SuperClamp further has a folding and tilting feature in place to cut down on footprint when not in use, while simultaneously allowing trunk access with bikes loaded.
In case that wasn’t enough, then we ought to mention how the rack can also support e-bikes, capable of holding two bikes up to 60 lbs each at any given time.
Turning our attention towards The Edge, it marks the emergence of Saris’ latest high-end bike rack. Built to provide ultimate stability and security, the rack can prove helpful, no matter whether transporting lightweight road bikes or heavy-duty e-bikes, in facilitating effortless loading and unloading.
Doing one better on SuperClamp, Edge ca support two e-bikes of upto 80 lbs each at any given time. It also enjoys the presence of a riser block system which, on its part, can elevate the rear wheel for the purpose of preventing seat and handlebar interference.
Apart from this, the rack features an integrated locking system. The stated system packs together locking cables and hitch pin for added theft protection. The product even has a tilting functionality which allows easy rear vehicle access, even when bikes are loaded.
“At Saris, our mission has always been to create products that make it easier and safer for cyclists to ride more and worry less,” said Darren Snyder, Director of Product Development at Saris. “We continue to invest in the cycling space by designing racks that not only meet the evolving needs of riders but also support the independent bike shops that keep the cycling community thriving.”
