Allowing Automation to Enhance the Adoption of EV Infrastructure

Lynkwell, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, has officially announced the launch of QuickLynk™, which happens to be an innovative automated onboarding product capable of reducing newly installed EV charger connection time to minutes instead of hours.

According to certain reports, QuickLynk™ arrives bearing an ability to streamline the setup of Lynkwell’s XLynk™ Level 2 charger, and therefore, empower installers to be more efficient. Not just that, it will also help site hosts better control their new charger settings.

Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the promise of a fully-automated setup, which ensures that installers no longer have to log in to the charging provider’s backend portal, configure settings, call off-site support, or wait for remote confirmation. Instead, the relevant technology can facilitate, on its own, a reliable charger connection in a few minutes rather than hours.

Almost like an extension of that, there is the potential for seamless connectivity. We get to say so because EV chargers can auto-connect to Lynkwell’s backend and achieve real-time status updates, while simultaneously eliminating the need for installers to conduct manual troubleshooting.

Beyond that, Lynkwell’s latest brainchild will also look to achieve faster project completion by letting site hosts receive an automated activation email once all chargers are online. Joining that would be the new solution’s focus on generating scalability and reliability. In essence, QuickLynk™ can enhance uptime and streamline site activation for deployments of any size, from individual installations to larger-scale projects.

“In my experience, setting up EV chargers often comes with challenges; gaining access, navigating setup screens, and waiting for stations to go live can all add unnecessary delays,” said Destiny Soler, regional property manager at Dawn Homes, a multifamily property management company that employs Lynkwell’s EV charging solutions as an amenity for its residents. “QuickLynk™ eliminated those hurdles. What used to take hours—or even require follow-ups—was done in minutes. The automated process was simple, fast, and efficient, reducing connection time and ensuring our residents had immediate access to charging.”

Markedly enough, the innovation in question delivers an interesting follow-up to one recent study, where it was revealed that more than 77 percent of installers face frustration with charger setup complexities, including delays, inconsistent hardware, and inadequate support.

Further contextualizing the importance of Lynkwell’s new development is the fact that setting up EV chargers with other leading providers currently entails a slow, multi-step process which can impede deployment for hours or even days.

These delays can emerge from manual provisioning, as installers must log into a backend portal, configure settings, and ensure each charger is properly recognized by the network.

Alongside that, there are remote support dependencies. Many providers basically require installers to wait for remote customer service representatives to confirm activation, often making the former wait on the phone for extensive amounts of time

In case that wasn’t enough, we also have configuration inconsistencies affecting the overarching setup. You see, different charger models and networks may require unique setup procedures, something which generates complexity and potential errors throughout the process.

Against these challenges, QuickLynk™ brings forth a mechanism, which enables the communication to be done through a simple online form. This particular feature treads up a long distance to encourage more installers to get involved, helping accelerate the growth of EV charging infrastructure.

Founded in 2016, Lynkwell has been one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States for the last three years. This the company has achieved using its top 10 nationwide cloud-based EV charging software platform which hosts dozens of EV charging networks and manages 10,000 assets at the moment.

“We are uniquely positioned to design a solution like QuickLynk™,” said Schuyler Poukish, chief executive officer at Lynkwell. “Many providers in this space only provide hardware, software, or service; Lynkwell integrates all functions in one U.S.-based team. Combining our installation expertise with our industry-leading software and proven interoperability, we were able to create an installation experience that is demonstrably different than anything else in the industry. We are excited to empower critical infrastructure installers with a new level of efficiency.”
